BLUE by Max

This painting is primarily composed in shades of blue, presenting a dynamic and flowing texture. On the left side of the canvas, deep blue and white intertwine to create strong brushstroke marks, as if a surge of energy is pouring out from the left and spreading or dissolving toward the right. The right side gradually becomes calm and soft, displaying a visual rhythm that moves from tension to release—much like the emergence and transformation of inner strength.
If we change the orientation of the painting—which is a common practice in expressive arts therapy—it can influence our interpretation of the emotional energy, spatial symbolism, and psychological projection within the artwork. For example, if the original diagonal placement from the lower left to the upper right is changed to a horizontal layout, the overall feeling shifts. In terms of spatial and directional symbolism, left-to-right is often interpreted as "moving from the past toward the future." If the visual weight is more substantial on the left side, it may suggest a more intense experience of the past. At the same time, the increasing space on the right might indicate a movement toward the unknown, release, or openness.
Isn't that fascinating? The above is just a small analysis—what matters most is the dialogue between the creator and the painting itself. That's the most accurate and most important aspect! When you look at this piece, in whatever direction it's placed, what do you feel? If it had a voice and wanted to speak, what kind of sound would it make?
